Duraswitch High Impact Keyboards
The high impact construction utilizes a layer of rubber over the tip of the crown of the armature to prevent damage to the switch. Still maintains crisp, consistent, tactile fee Easily environmentally sealed Available with removable overlay
Case Study:
A manufacturer of gas pumps was looking for a control panel that would hold up to the abuse Of customers using their car keys and the end of the nozzle to actuate the control panel. The switch also needed to be sealed from the environment and maintain a tactile feel. By working with the Duraswitch Engineers, the customer was supplied with a control panel utilizing the new High Impact Construction, integrated with Island switch elements. The layer of rubber over the top of the crown of the armatures protected the armatures during impact, but still allowed for a crisp tactile feel. The foam used in the Island design provided for the necessary sealing. The overlay used was a 10 mil Tedlar. This overlay material not only provided the necessary thickness to help prevent cutting, but also provided the necessary UV protection.
